Sunday, November 10 dawned clear and a
bit crisp for Southwest Florida. It was
a perfect football game day for the
Royal Adventurers excursion to the Miami
Dolphins game against the Buffalo Bills
at Dolphins Stadium in Miami.
Adventurer leaders Joan and Marv McMahon
had every detail planned, from morn
until night.
Hot coffee and pastries were waiting as
the Adventurers arrived for the 7:30
a.m. (!) boarding of the coach. It was
all hands on deck as tables chairs, and
then the fixings for an elegant tailgate
party were loaded in the cargo bays. It
was a tight fit, but with the help of
our own Wade, and coach driver Mark, it
all fit tightly. The libations for the
morning’s enjoyment were stocked in the
rear of the bus. As soon as we were on
the road, Joan and her assistants made
sure that everyone had the Mimosa,
Bloody Mary or other beverage of choice.
Arriving at Dolphins Stadium in good
time, the cargo was unloaded and
chef-of-the-day Rick supervised many
hands in putting on a fancy luncheon
spread that was the envy of all around.
DELICIOUS! We had plenty of time to
socialize with fellow adventurers before
heading to our terrific seats in the
stadium. Although the Dolphins played a
good game, and it seemed for awhile they
would win in our honor, in the end they
increased their losing streak to 0-9.
We found our way back to our coach and
it was on to the Macaroni Grill in
Pembroke Pines for dinner. We were
quite a bit early and enjoyed special
light pizzas while we waited for the
tables (setting up for 48 was a
challenge). The food was hearty and
delicious, and many enjoyed a good
snooze on the ride home to RPYC. Many
thanks to Joan and Marv for taking care
of all the details and making it another
great Royal Adventure! |
